Mark Granberry Presented Kirk l. Brimley Distinguished Service Award at ISA Sign Expo 2022
The award is the highest honor of the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry.
Dallas, Texas (May 5, 2022) – Mark Granberry, President and CEO of GSG, a leader in the screen, digital and sign equipment and supply industry, was recognized at a reception Thursday night in Atlanta during International Sign Association's ISA Sign Expo. The International Sign Association presents the award each year to a leader who has made significant contributions to the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry.
Michael Hage, ISA board chairman in 2022, presented Granberry with his award, noting his ability to “see around corners,” which has helped drive technological innovations within the industry. Granberry also helped ISA prepare for the future during his tenure as ISA board chair. Granberry has served in a variety of positions in regional affiliated associations.
"I thought I'd been punked," Granberry said of receiving the award. "I enjoyed my time on the ISA board and think I did a lot of good work. But so did a lot of people. It's pretty humbling to have your industry peers decide that you deserve this."
Serving the sign industry since 1950, GSG has seen many changes across the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry but service continues to remain a top priority for the company. “Mark will tell you that he initially began volunteering for associations to raise the profile for GSG. But once Mark saw how associations helped members in the industry grow, he jumped in with both feet,” said Hage, acknowledging Granberry’s resume of service. “He has multiplied that impact by encouraging his employees to step in and lead the sign and graphics industry through service at ISA and regionally affiliated associations.”
During his acceptance speech, Granberry thanked his GSG Family. “As a distributor, I know sign companies have many choices when purchasing products. In the end, it’s really [the relationships] with the people they end up buying from. [At GSG], we have a great group of people.”
