To prepare a metallic ink of proper printing consistency it is necessary to determine which clear base to use (this depends upon the substrate to be printed). You mustmix the metallic powder with the recommended thinner until a heavy paste is obtained. If the powder in not mixed into a paste, the powder will "clump up" and not mix evenly into the base. Ratios: add the clear base and mix well. Use approximately 3 lbs. Of copper or gold to a gallon of base, or approximately 30% by weight. Use approximately 1 lb of aluminum powder, or about 10% by weight to 1 gal of appropriate clear base. Use monofilament fabric from 180 to 230 mesh for best results.
